Protective Factors
_Protective factors are conditions or attributes that, when present, increase the health and well-being of children and families.
Research has shown that including the protective factors in programming is more effective than focusing on reducing risk factors alone. The Children's Trust Fund now encourages all grant recipients to address one or more of the following protective factors in their programming:

Further, the protective factors can be introduced to all families, at any time, in a variety of settings.
