About the Arkansas Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Board
Mission Statement
The mission of the Arkansas Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board is to develop and maintain a statewide system of programs, policies, practices and attitudes that prevent child abuse and neglect.
The Arkansas Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board was formed to oversee the Arkansas Children's Trust Fund. The Board is responsible for establishing policies and procedures that govern the Children's Trust Fund and for reviewing and approving all CTF grant applications.
The Board also promotes the establishment of a Local Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council in every county of Arkansas. Local Councils play an important role in helping to establish a network of child abuse prevention services across the state.
The Board also works in collaboration with others around the state to promote programs that strengthen and support families, thereby reducing the incidence of child maltreatment and otherwise improving outcomes for children.
The Board also seeks to educate and inform the general public about the importance of and means for preventing child abuse and neglect.
The Board consists of nine members appointed by the Governor of the State of Arkansas.
